Provides Services in English

Kathy is a Registered Psychologist with Alycol Counselling Services. Kathy provides in-person and online psychotherapy to adults and adolescents over the age of sixteen. She has interest in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, body-image issues, relationship issues, and adjustment concerns. Kathy’s emphasizes a trauma-informed and directive approach to overcoming life’s challenges.

Prior to registering as a provisional psychologist, Kathy worked as a licensed mental health counselor associate in Washington state providing therapy to families, couples, adults, and children as young as four years old. She also interned at a government agency and correctional centre providing psychotherapy and education to adults and teens and ran workshops on a variety of life skills topics. Kathy is trained in the following modalities: cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, Gottman’s couples counselling (Level 1), motivational interviewing, and is in the process of training in sensorimotor psychotherapy and EMDR. Kathy takes into consideration a client’s family and system structures when identifying treatment goals and skill-building techniques. It is important to Kathy that each session is collaborative and focuses on what would be most meaningful to the client in that space.

She has over five years of experience working in mental health settings and is passionate about supporting individuals in their journey of healing and self-exploration.
