Parkland County Distress Intervention Support Program

Welcome to the Parkland County Distress Intervention Support program. This program has been designed to provide immediate mental health supports for employees who are experiencing distress. The goal of this program is to ensure that employees are able to access high quality psychological intervention when they need it most.

The goal of this program is to ensure that employees are connected with trauma-informed and skilled mental health professionals within 24 hours of seeking help. This program does not negate the need for personal psychologists or EAP programs but rather serves as a complimentary support when other programs may not be accessible.

Parkland County is committed to providing funding for distress intervention and one follow-up support appointment. Upon completion of these appointments, the employee will be encouraged to continue private treatment utilizing employee benefits and/or seek assistance with their natural supports.

Alycol and Parkland County are committed to ensuring that employee health information remains confidential; only information essential for funding purposes will be disclosed. Alycol will operate as per the College of Alberta Psychologists as it relates to confidentiality and documentation requirements.
